Directions

The Museum is located at 586 Wiscasset Road (Route 27) in Boothbay.

FROM THE SOUTH | Take Route 95 North to Portland, watching for signs to the Boothbay Harbor Region Coastal Route via Exit 52 (formerly Exit 9) Take Exit 52 to Route 295 North toward Freeport & Yarmouth. Take either Exit 28 (formerly Exit 22) and travel North through Brunswick to Route 1. Follow Route 1 North through Bath (over the Kennebec River bridge), and into the town of Wiscasset. After the Sheepscot River bridge, you will see signs for the Boothbay Harbor Region. Take a right turn onto Route 27 South, and follow about 8 miles to Boothbay. The Museum will be on your left.

FROM DOWNEAST AND ACADIA | Take Route 1 South and follow through Camden, Thomaston, and Damariscotta. After Newcastle, you will see signs for the Boothbay Harbor Region and Route 27 South. Turn left onto Route 27 South and follow about 8 miles to Boothbay. The Museum will be on your left.

FROM THE NORTH | Take Route 27 South from Augusta. In Wiscasset, you will come to the end of the first part of Route 27 South. Take a left onto Route 1 North, into the village of Wiscasset. After the Sheepscot River bridge, you will see signs for the Boothbay Harbor Region. Take a right turn onto Route 27 South, and follow about 8 miles to Boothbay. The Railway Village Museum will be on your left.

This is an amazingly cool place for those who enjoy history. The cars, trains, buildings, schoolhouse, and museums are first rate.The best part is you can tell that all of the people who are a part of the museum really love what they do.
