Learn the basics of blacksmithing at the Boothbay Railway Village forge with Jim Kearney. Both a morning beginner workshop and an afternoon intermediate workshop are available! Intermediate students should have some prior blacksmithing experience.

Jim Kearney has been blacksmithing since 1976. He has studied smithing in Ireland and Germany. Jim has forged everything from rigging hardware for sailing vessels to fine architectural hardware. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and in galleries across the country.
Fee: $90 BRV Members, $95 non-members. Ages 14 and up. Students age 14-18 must be accompanied by an adult. Guardian does not need to register unless also participating in the class. Limit of two students per class. Students required to wear safety glasses. Leather work gloves optional. Register in advance online or call 207-633-4727.
