2021 HOURS & ADMISSIONS

ADMISSION $15 Adults  |  $8 Children 3-18  |  $12 Adults 65 plus years old   

FREE | Under Three | Museum Members | Maine Foster Families, with IDs | Active Duty Military Families, with IDs

NEW | Standard admission fees include 2nd free day of admission and train rides within 7-day period. Receipt required for re-admittance. 

HOURS for the 2021 season to be announced soon.

SPECIAL EVENT DAYS | Many of our community events such as Fall Foliage Festival, Ghost Train, North Pole Express, Family Harvest Days and Olde Village Days, offer a special ticket purchase in advance or at the door. Check event calendar for details

TRAINS  |  Rail trips depart on the hour – 11 am – 4 pm every day. Last train leaves promptly at 4 pm Feel free to call, to confirm schedule and equipment operating on day of visit 

DOGS  |  Well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome to visit the Museum throughout the season including all Museum special events. A pet waste station, a gift from Two Salty Dogs Pet Outfitters.

ACCESSIBILITY  |  Our unpaved roads lead to structures typical of rural Maine, and are generally firm and stable. Most roads are level, with steeper grade near the goat pen and blacksmith shop. Our railroad operates with a combination of historic and replica rolling stock that can sometimes prove challenging for guests.Most of our historic buildings have wheelchair-accessible entrances.

  • An open coach with ramped access for wheelchairs or scooters is available with 24-hour advance notice
  • Our conductors and engineers are always available to help with the two or three steps required to board

Boothbay Railway Village is an outdoor history museum, a re-created Maine town of 1850 – 1950. The Village covers more than 30 acres and has more than two dozen historic and reconstructed buildings.

SCHEDULE VARIABLES  | Admission fees includes the opportunity to experience any of our unique, interactive activities offered during your visit such as steam or diesel train rides, Model T rides, blacksmith and artisan demonstrations, hands-on history lessons for kids, and specialty tours. These change daily and no specific program is guaranteed, as we are a volunteer-driven non-profit relying extensively on the availability of artisans and other volunteers.
